3. Data collection on our website

Cookies

In order for this site to function properly, we place small files, so-called cookies, on your device. This is not unusual and is standard on most large websites.

What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file that a website leaves on your computer, tablet or smartphone when you visit it. This allows the page to remember certain entries and settings (e.g. login, language, font size and other display preferences) over a certain period of time. This means you do not need to make your preferred settings each time you visit and navigate the site.

How do we use cookies?

On our pages we use cookies to store your personal data.

– your screen display preferences, e.g. contrast and font size
– your decision to use (or not to use) cookies on this website.

Embedded videos on our pages also use cookies to generate anonymous statistics about the previously visited pages and the selected videos. The basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analysing user behaviour in order to optimise both his website and his advertising.

Accepting cookies is not absolutely necessary for the use of the portal, but it makes surfing more pleasant. You may block or delete cookies, but this may affect some features of this portal. The information collected using cookies is not used to identify you. The data is completely under our control. In addition, cookies are used exclusively for the purposes stated here.

Control over cookies

You can control and/or delete cookies at will. How to find out here: aboutcookies.org. You can delete all cookies stored on your computer and set most browsers so that the storage of cookies is prevented. However, you may have to make some settings manually each time you visit a page and accept the impairment of some functions.

Server log files

The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are browser type and browser version, operating system used, referrer URL, host name of the accessing computer, time of the server request and IP address. These data are not combined with other data sources. The basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analysing user behaviour for technical and statistical purposes.

In order to further optimize our website and our offers, these files are created. We also reserve the right to use this data in the event of system abuse to determine the cause or trigger of the abuse.

Contact form

If you send us enquiries using the contact form, your details from the enquiry form, including the contact data you provided there, will be stored for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in the event of follow-up questions. We will not pass on this data without your consent.

The data entered in the contact form is therefore processed exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO). You can revoke this consent at any time. All you need to do is send us an informal e-mail. The legality of the data processing processes carried out up to the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

The data entered by you in the contact form will remain with us until you request us to delete, your consent for storage revoked or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g. after your request has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.

4. Analysis tools and advertising

Google Analytics – General

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. “(“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Google Analytics cookies are stored on the basis of Art. 6 Par. 1 lit. f DSGVO. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analysing user behaviour in order to optimise both his website and his advertising. Google Analytics – IP Anonymization

However, if IP anonymisation is activated on this website, Google will reduce your IP address within Member States of the European Union or in other states party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area beforehand. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide the website operator with other services relating to website and Internet use. The IP address transmitted by your browser in the context of Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data.

Google Analytics – Browser Plug-In

You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. You can also prevent Google from collecting data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link (http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en).

Google Analytics – Objection against data collection

For more information on terms of use and data protection, please visit https://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html or https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/. We would like to point out that on this website Google Analytics has been extended by a part of the code to ensure anonymous collection of IP addresses.

Google Analytics – Order data processing

We have concluded a contract with Google for commissioned data processing and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities for the use of Google Analytics.

Google Analytics – Demographic Features

This website uses the “demographic features” function of Google Analytics. The basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. Due to technical and statistical purposes, the website operator has a legitimate interest in analysing the demographic characteristics of website visitors. Google Analytics'”demographic features” feature allows you to generate reports that include information about the age, gender and interests of site visitors. This data comes from interest-related advertising by Google and from visitor data from third-party providers. This data cannot be assigned to a specific person. You can disable this feature at any time from your Google Account ad preferences or opt-out of Google Analytics collecting your information as described in the “Opt-out of data collection” section.

Google Analytics – Remarketing

Our websites use the functions of Google Analytics Remarketing in connection with the cross-device functions of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. The provider is Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

This function enables the target groups created with Google Analytics Remarketing to be linked with the cross-device functions of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. In this way, interest-related, personalized advertising messages that were adapted to you depending on your previous usage and surfing behavior on one device (e.g. mobile phone) can also be displayed on another of your devices (e.g. tablet or PC). Once you give your permission, Google will link your web and app browsing history to your Google Account for that purpose. This way, the same personalized advertising messages can be delivered to every device you sign in to with your Google Account. To support this feature, Google Analytics collects Google authenticated user IDs that are temporarily linked to our Google Analytics data to define and create cross-device ad targeting.

You can permanently object to cross-device remarketing/targeting by disabling personalized advertising in your Google Account by following this link: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb/.

The summary of the data collected in your Google Account is based solely on your consent, which you can submit or revoke to Google (Art. 6 par. 1 lit. a DSGVO). For data collection operations that are not merged into your Google Account, the collection of data is based on Article 6(1)(f) of the DSGVO. The legitimate interest arises from the fact that the website operator has an interest in anonymous analysis of website visitors for advertising purposes. Further information and the data protection regulations can be found in Google’s data protection declaration at: https://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads/.

Google AdWords and Google Conversion Tracking

This website uses Google AdWords. AdWords is an online advertising program of Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States (“Google”).

In the context of Google AdWords we use the so-called conversion tracking. When you click on an ad served by Google, a cookie is set for conversion tracking. Cookies are small text files that the Internet browser places on the user’s computer. These cookies expire after 30 days and are not used to personally identify users. If the user visits certain pages of this website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and we can recognize that the user has clicked on the ad and has been redirected to this page. Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. Cookies cannot be tracked through the websites of AdWords customers. The information collected using the conversion cookie is used to generate conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. Customers see the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, you will not receive any information that personally identifies users. If you do not wish to participate in tracking, you can object to this use by easily deactivating the Google Conversion Tracking cookie via your Internet browser under User Settings. They are then not included in the conversion tracking statistics.

Conversion cookies” are stored on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analysing user behaviour in order to optimise both his website and his advertising. For more information on Google AdWords and Google Conversion Tracking, please see Google’s privacy policy: https://www.google.de/policies/privacy/.

You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. When cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be limited.

When you visit one of our YouTube plugged in pages, a connection to YouTube’s servers is established. The YouTube server is informed which of our pages you have visited. If the user is logged in to one of the social networks, an information window appears when using the social buttons of Facebook, Twitter & Co. in which the user can confirm the text before sending it.

Our users can share the contents of this site in social networks in compliance with data protection regulations without complete surfing profiles being created by the network operators.

Google Web Fonts

This site uses so-called web fonts provided by Google to uniformly display fonts. When you call up a page, your browser loads the required Web fonts into your browser cache to display texts and fonts correctly. To do this, the browser you are using must connect to Google’s servers. This gives Google knowledge that our website has been accessed via your IP address. The use of Google Web Fonts is in the interest of a uniform and appealing presentation of our online offers. This represents a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO.

If you do not want or your browser does not support Google Web Fonts, a default font will be used by your computer. As a result, the display of our homepage may change. Further information about Google Web Fonts can be found at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google’s privacy policy: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/

Google Maps

This page uses the map service Google Maps. The provider is Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. To use the functions of Google Maps it is necessary to save your IP address. This information is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The provider of this site has no influence on this data transmission. The use of Google Maps is in the interest of an appealing representation of our online offers and at an easy findability of the places indicated by us on the website. This represents a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO.
